We picked up the bikes with no dramas and then rode to the railway station. It was another lovely fine morning, promising to get hot later.
We had a wait for the train and met the conductor who was quite a wag. As well as that he was quite helpful. Claimed that the only person he knew about from Australia was George Pell!
We took the train to Decimomannu to escape the Cagliari traffic. Worked well. After some initial route confusion it was plain sailing through agricultural land on the plains to Sanluri.
The wildflowers (mostly weeds) were also spectacular, with yellow daisies, California Poppy and more.
Sheep and goats, wheat, artichokes and of course grapes. Quite warm when we arrived.
Ross and Patrick were staying in a beautiful modern hotel Piccolo Feudo, which seems designed for functions. The rooms were large and well appointed.
In the evening we went to Coxinendi where the food was superb. Later that evening though, the thunderstorms and showers started : the run of fine days appeared to be over!
